To minimise possibilities of infestation in and around your property you should conduct periodic maintenance . Some things to look for and factors that may lead to infestation include: 

  • Areas where the edge of the concrete slab is covered by soil or by gardens.
  • Weep holes not fully exposed, must have at least 75mm clearance.
  • Leaking pipes, wet/damp areas, poor drainage, scrap timber, form-work timbers, mulch, tree stumps, tree branches touching the structure, timber retaining walls and wood rot.
  • Hot water service and air conditioning overflows need to be directed into drains of home
